Samoa : Benoît XVI reçoit le Premier ministreROME, Lundi 28 Novembre 2005 (ZENIT.org) – Le pape Benoît XVI a reçu ce matin au Vatican le Premier ministre de l’Etat indépendant de Samoa, M. Tula’epa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, sa femme et leur suite. L’Etat de Samoa est constitué d’un archipel du centre sud de l’Océan pacifique, qui rassemble 180 000 habitants. Indépendant depuis 1962, Samoa fait partie du Commonwealth et il est dirigé par une monarchie constitutionnelle. Environ 60 % de la population est composée de chrétiens protestants, tandis que les catholiques représentent un peu plus de 21 % des habitants. |
